Urdu Poetry with English Translation

haseeN laboN pe ye muskurahat saja ke rakhna

[ keep this (enchanting) smile on (your) beautiful lips ]

safar kahin he, tum apni hmmat barha ke rakhna

[ the journey is hard, keep your courage ]

siyaah raatoN meN gham ki tez aandhiaN chaleN jab

[ when winds of sorrow blow in dark nights  ]

  

hawa ke rukh pe charagh dil ka jala ke rakhna

[ light up the lamp of your heart against (these) winds ]

hazar kante heN raste meN milan ke beshak

[ even if there are numerous obstacles in the path to union ]

rafaqatoN ki umeed man meN basa ke rakhna

[ keep the hope of union in your heart (and soul) ]

bipharti lehreN, wasi samandar gumaan ka he

[ there is a sea of doubt with raging waves ]

yaqeeN ke sahil ko apna mehwar bana ke rakhna

[ stay gravitated toward the shore of belief ]  

deher ke jabr-o-sitam ke aage na sar jhukana

[ don't give in to the compulsions and cruelty of the world ]

jahaan-e-taza ki kuch umangeN bacha ke rakhna

[ keep (some) desire for a new world ]

غزل

حسیں لبوں پہ یہ مسکراہٹ سجا کے رکھنا کٹھِن سفر ہے، تم اپنی ہمّت بڑھا کے رکھنا سیاہ راتوں میں دکھ کی تیز آندھیاں چلیں جب ہوا کے رُخ پہ، چراغ دل کا، جلا کے رکھنا ہزار کانٹے ہیں راستے میں ملن کے بیشک رفاقتوں کی امید من میں بسا کے رکھنا بپھرتی لہریں، وسیع سمندر گمان کا ہے یقیں کے ساحل کو اپنا محور بنا کے رکھنا دہر کے جبر و ستم کے آگے نہ سر جھکانا جہانِ تازہ کی کچھ امنگیں بچا کے رکھنا
